THE BRIEF HISTORY OF SJK(C) HAN CHIANG
1919 |
Lin Chum (1855 – 1932), was originally from
Guangdong province in China and a famous businessman. He was the President of
Han Chiang Ancestral Temple for 16 years.
Besides, he was the Assistant President for the Guang Ding Association
Board, a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Trustees.
He was also the first initiator proposing the establishment of Han Chiang
Primary School. Zhou Man Tang (Chew Buan Thong) (1878 –
1937), a Teowchew, was a famous businessman and a professional in the growing
industry. He was also a member of the
Kuomintang party. In 1919, when Lin
Chum mooted the idea of starting a school, he received strong backing from
the Teochew community and Zhou was made the organising chairman. |
1920 |
Tan Shu Lin was the
first headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for a year. |
1921 |
Wu Ya Nong took over as
the second headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for a year. |
1922 |
The overseas Teochew purchased a land next to the Han Chiang
Ancestral Temple as the founding ground of Han Chiang Primary School. Fan Zhen Shi was the
third headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for a year. |
1923 |
Fang Fu Shuang took
over as the 4th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for two
years. The construction was completed in 1922 and
the opening ceremony was held on 10th October. The school and
teaching staffs were registered under the 1920 “Registration of School Act”. |
1925 |
Wang Hao Ran took over
as the 5th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for three
years. |
1928 |
Li Zhao Pan
was the 6th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for two years. |
1930 |
Yao Bao Zhi took over
as the 7th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School for a year. |
1931 |
Li Ming Liang was the 8th
headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School till June 1932. |
1932 |
Zheng Wen Guang was appointed as the 9th
headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School till December 1937. |
1934 |
Numbers of pupils at school increased to 600
due to migration of overseas Teochew to Penang. The school was financed by
the Board of Directors, Penang Teochew Association and public donations. |
1936 |
The school accepted the colonial
government’s partial subsidy and abided by the Overseas Chinese Education
Ordinance, it applied to the Ministry of Education to become a recognized
Chinese primary school. |
1938 |
In January, Chai Zi Bin
was appointed as the 10th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School. |
1939 |
As the pupils’ populations grew rapidly, Lim
Lean Teng donated a piece of 12-acres land in Green Lane Lian Li Park as the new
site for Han Chiang Primary School. The school changed its location for three
times. |
1941 |
The headmaster from
Bangkok, Thailand brought a total of 10 pupils to Penang in the search of a suitable
land to build a school.He invited our school to cooperate and combine for the
establishment of high school.However, during the Japanese Invation, Han
Chiang Primary School ceased to operate, thus
the plan of building the school came to a halt. |
1945 |
As the end of World War
II, Han Chiang primary school officially resumed on 8th October. Chai Zi Bin continued
to serve as the headmaster till December 1948. |
1948 |
The Teochew community decided to
expand Han Chiang School Committee in order to expand primary school and
planned to establish a secondary school to work together with 15 trustees
which is leaded by Yu Xiang Lim and Zi Liang Yu. Lim Lean Teng donated another piece of
31-arces land to be the founding ground of Han Chiang High School. |
1949 |
In January, Xu Chong Zhi was appointed as
the 11th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School. |
1950 |
There were multiple versions of school logo after the
war. In the 50’s, the primary school shared the same logo as the high school,
which was designed by Xu Chong Zhi. |
1951 |
The high school
building completed its construction. The lower primary pupils continued to
have classes in the existing building while the upper primary pupils merged
with the high school as an integral part of the institution. |
1957 |
Han Chiang Primary School was categorized as a national-type Chinese
School. |
1959 |
An exhibition was held in conjunction with
the 40th anniversary and Children's Day celebrations at the Han Chiang
Ancestral Temple. State Education Minister and Lim Lean Teng speaking at
celebrations. |
1961 |
On November 4, 1961, the foundation-laying ceremony was held. |
1962 |
In 1962, Han Chiang Primary School moved to
the new building next to the secondary school. The construction cost of
$200,000 was donated by the public and the Teochew Association. The Han Chiang Primary School anthem was
composed in 1962. The lyrics were written by Headmaster Xu Chong Zhi. Xu Yuan
Liang provided the tune and Su Zhao Xiong compiled the stave. Xu Chong Zhi was the first
headmaster to lead the school in the current premises. Xu Yuan Liang is one of the country's very
famous music composers and conductors while Su Zhao Xiong was another
widely-acclaimed composer and conductor. Both of them are Han Chiang Primary
alumni. |
1963 |
Due to the number of students was on the
rise, Han Chiang Primary School constructed a new canteen at the back of its
premises. |
1964 |
The original canteen was renovated to house
2 classrooms, a library and a music room while the storeroom was converted to
house a dental clinic. The current school building was completed in 1964.
Since then, graduates completed their education at this school building. |
1969 |
Fang Ewe Church was appointed as the 12th
headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School on 1st July. |
1970 |
The art room and music room were converted to classrooms while the
canteen was extended to house an additional classroom as student enrolment
increased to about 1,700. In 1970,Han Chiang Primary School started using its
logo designed by Headmaster Fang Ewe Church. |
1973 |
Han Chiang Primary School moved out of its
premises beside the Teochew Association. Since no one managed the premises,
the Directors of the Teochew Association and Teochew Business Association
reached the agreement to allow the Teochew Business Association to use the
premises as its office. |
1985 |
On 30th January, Yeow Kheng Khoon
was appointed as the 13th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School. |
1992 |
Lew Kong Phung was appointed as the 14th
headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School on 1st January. A school
expansion committee was formed and led by Lim Beng Chor. The expansion
consisted of a school hall, canteen and 18 classrooms. |
1994 |
Yeoh Kee Dong was appointed as the 15th
headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School on 1st May. With
overwhelming financial support from the businessmen and the public, the
school constructed a hall and an additional 18 classrooms. In 1996, the
school started to use these classrooms. |
1995 |
On 15th August, Ch’ng Lean Kin
was appointed as the 16th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School,
who helped to coordinate and supervise the school expansion project. |
1996 |
Lim Beng Chor (1924 – 1996) was from
Guandong province. He built up his business from scratch. He had been the Han
Chiang Primary School Board of Directors chairman, a director of the Han
Chiang Secondary School Board, treasurer, and deputy chairman and interim
chairman. As a tribute to his contributions, “Lim Lian Yu Spirit” was awarded
to him in recognition of his contributions to the school in 1996. |
1997 |
On 16th April, Ch’ng Lean Kin was
appointed as the 16th headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School. She
was the first ever lady to be appointed as the headmistress of Han Chiang Primary
School. |
1998 |
School expansion project was completed. On
August 17, 1998, the Board of Directors invited Mrs Lim Beng Chor to unveil
the “Lim Beng Chor” commemorative plaque. On the same day, the Board of
Directors Chairman Tan Sri Dato' Tan Kok Ping announced that August 18 would be
the School Day. |
1999 |
On 1st April, Tan Hwa Hwa was
appointed as the 18th headmistress of Han Chiang Primary School.
Board of Directors organized the 80th Anniversary celebration of
Han Chiang Primary School and successfully raised RM200,000 as school
development fund. The first ever commemoration magazine was published since
the school founded in 1919. |
2000 |
With the cooperation of
the Board of Directors, Parents and Teachers Associations, Alumni
Association, teachers and students coupled with the upgrade of soft and
hardware of the school. The UPSR results create new records every year and
the students are also outstanding in co-curricular activities. In 2000, 19 of
the standard six students obtained 7As making it the highest achievement for
the school. |
2001 |
RM30,000 were spent to construct a covered
walkway corridor which started its use on 3rd January. |
2003 |
In 2003, the school
became the only Chinese school in Penang to receive the accolade of “Culture
Seedling (Wen Hua You Miao)” from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture,
along with a grant of RM25, 000 to purchase dance costumes of the various
local ethnicity. |
2006 |
On September 23 2006, the choir group participated in the 40th
Musical Festival in Kuala Lumpur and emerged in second placing. |
2007 |
Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing was elected as the
organizing chairman of 88th Anniversary celebration. Based on the historical record, the first
school day of Han Chiang primary school started on the 10th
October. Hence, the committee agreed that the 88th anniversary
celebration to be held on the 10th of October and for the coming
years as well. During the celebration, Board of Directors
was able to raise RM300,000 development fund to upgrade to interiors of the
school hall to a higher level. The various primary schools in Jelutong did
well in the UPSR exam, emerging in second place, with 43 students garnering
7As. |
2008 |
RM120,000 was granted by Parents &
Teachers Association of Han Chiang Primary School to rebuild the washrooms
and to repaint the school. In the 2008 UPSR exam, 42 students obtained
7As, an excellent result. |
2010 |
The board celebrated a joined anniversary
celebration of 3 Han Chiang schools on 15th July with the theme
“Han Chiang: Three Institutions Unified as One”. |
2011 |
The school took part in the “Mandarin Battle
Star” organized by NTV7 and MOE and achieved 2nd runner-up. |
2012 |
The school took part in the “Mandarin Battle
Star” organized by NTV7 and MOE and achieved 3nd runner-up. Under the excellent leadership of
headmistress Tan Hwa Hwa, she was awarded as the “Outstanding School Leader”
by MOE. |
2013 |
The school was crowned as “High Performance
School”, which was the highest accolade achievable by government schools in
Malaysia. RM700,000 was granted to the school to upgrade the school
facilities and international academic achievement. Headmistress Tan Hwa Hwa was awarded as the
“Outstanding School Leader” for the 2nd time in row. |
2014 |
Headmistress Tan Hwa Hwa was awarded as the
“Outstanding School Leader for the 3rd time in row. |
2015 |
Headmistress Tan Hwa Hwa was awarded as the
“Outstanding School Leader” for the 4th time in row. The school became the champion in the “Mandarin Battle Star”
organized by NTV7 and MOE and received RM30,000 as reward. 96th anniversary of the school
was celebrated after a successful and brilliant achievement throughout the
year, with the return of more than 10,000 alumnus gathering for alma mater. Tan Weng Hoe was appointed as the 19th
headmaster of Han Chiang Primary School on 5th December. |
2016 |
On 8th April, the Love Red Packet
campaign was held in the school for the first time. Through doing the good
deed of donating money to the charity, teachers and pupils are instilled with
the good virtues and values of gaining happiness by being kind and helpful. The corridor along gate B was upgraded to become the “Road Safety
Corridor”, an initiative by Headmaster Tan Weng Hoe and funded by PTA to
increase the awareness of pupils about safety on the road.
In July, an outdoor LED board with the
dimension of 20ft × 6ft was set up at the centre of school building. The
board which cost RM38,000 was fully sponsored by the PTA and was the second
largest LED board among the primary schools of Penang. A visit for an exchange programme from
Srinakorn Hatyai High School, Thailand on 8th September. On the 29th October, Han Chiang Primary
School was struck with the worst flood recorded in Han Chiang history,
destroying lots of classrooms equipment and facilities around the school.
Headmaster Tan Weng Hoe led the school cleaning project together with PTA and
many other parents. A friendly school visit from Southern Seberang Prai District
Education Inspectorate on 11th November. UPSR soared to new
heights under teachers’ hard work, meanwhile a grand school charity carnival was
hosted successfully in conjunction with the 97th anniversary
celebration. Han Chiang Primary School managed to close the gap in placing from
10th to 7th out of 278 primary schools in Penang.

2017 |
Tan Hwa Hwa was awarded the “Outstanding
School Leader” for the 5th time after her retirement and the
school was granted RM10,000 for facilities upgrading purposes. The implementation
of ALL SCHOOLS APP helps the school to deliver the latest information about
school activities and any other announcements. It is also a good way to track
the daily homework assigned to the pupils. Caring Parents Club of
Han Chiang Primary School was formed in June under the initiative of Headmaster
Tan Weng Hoe to help resolve the traffic issue during the school dismiss
time. On 30th June, Tan Weng Hoe
retired as headmaster. Lee Hong Choo was appointed as the 20th
headmistress of Han Chiang Primary School on 28th July. On 15th September, after the
fourth day of UPSR exam in the year, flash flood struck the school again
during morning school time. With the help of various parties and agencies,
school children were evacuated to safety and the UPSR pupils were able to
return to school to sit for the exam as usual. The PTA successfully
organized the first ever Mid-Autumn Neon Walk on 28th October.
This night time walk gained positive feedbacks and praises from various
parties. About 2 months later after the previous
flood, the school was again hit with flood for the 2nd time consecutively
in a year, with a record-breaking water level of almost 1.2 meters high. Many
facilities on the ground floor were severely damaged, which caused the school
a great lost. With not more than a week time remaining before the school
annual graduation ceremony, many volunteers have come to aid the school and
helped to return the school to the actual state. On the 11th November, it was the first time
where Year 6 graduating pupils wore on the graduation robes along the school
annual graduation ceremony. The ceremony was successfully held in the high
school hall for the first time. Under the
absolute effort of all the teachers and pupils, the school achieved yet
another outstanding result in the UPSR examination, with 93.10%, the highest passing
percentage within past ten years. |
2018 |
New staffroom was
relocated to the first floor which was financed by the Board of Directors to
prevent flood damage in the future. At the same time, pantry was added. 550 sets of all new desks and chairs were
jointly purchased by the Boards of Directors and Parents & Teachers
Association to replace the old ones that were severely damaged during the
flood. Dato Koay Khay Chye sponsored two all-in-one
interactive boards for two classrooms. Every classroom was provided with a cabinet
for storing textbooks and workbooks to reduce the school bags’ load of
pupils. A visit from Chong Zheng Primary School of Singapore
on 9th March. On 3rd March, a visit from the boarding schools and excellent
schools’ officers to the school to discuss
strategies and measures for school improvement. Members from the Super Panda Team drew five
panda-themed murals and organized a book sharing session to promote filial
piety towards elderly to the pupils. |
2019 |
A visit from Jukseong Elementary
School on 9th January for the Cultural Exchange Programme. Mr. Saw
Yeong Chin connected Malaysia’s renowned soprano, Ms. Tung Gak Hong, the
widow of the late school anthem’s composer, Mr. Khaw Guan Liang, to sing the
school anthem. The re-record of the school anthem was released during the
Annual Sports Day 2019. On 15th
May, the PTA and parent volunteers organized an extraordinary Teacher’s Day.
All teachers savoured the memories to the full. In
conjunction with Han Chiang’s 100 Years of excellence celebration, a Torch
Run successfully held on 14th July. 4,000 people took part actively in the
run. The Torch Run flagged off by Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese
Schools Association Board of Directors Chairman Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing and
Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Board of Directors
Honorary Advisor Dato’ Seri Ng Tee Soo.
There were 100 bicycles, 15 trishaws and two Hop On Hop Off double
decker buses accompanied the torch bearers. The torch bearers passed the
torch from one to another over a length of 6km route. On
20th July, twelve pupils from the school dancing team participated
in the Malay Traditional Dance Competition organized by the Penang State
Education Department and Southwest District Education Office, and won the Championship,
Best Costume Award and Best Makeup Award. Thirty
pupils from Han Chiang Primary School participated in a three-day and two-night
Charity Dinner and Study Camp hosted by MEIJAYA Malaysia Native Food Sdn Bhd
on 12th August. The pupils had the opportunity to participate in
indigenous fashion show competitions, speech contests and visited many
tourist spots in Kuala Lumpur. MEIJAYA Malaysia Native Food Sdn Bhd also
donated RM 3000 to Han Chiang Primary School. On 9th July, the school
dancing team proudly presented two traditional dances "Gadis Anak Tanjung"
and "Spring News" at the National Day Celebration hosted by Radio
Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) as the opening and closing performances. On 14th
September, in conjunction with Han Chiang Centennial Celebration, Han Chiang
Primary School has held a Centennial Lantern Festival Walkathon which is also
the Children's Day Celebration. Around 3,000 participants joined this
walkathon with their lanterns along the fancy car parade, as well as dragon
and lion dance performance. This also marks the first time ever that Han
Chiang Primary School held our Children's Day Celebration at night.
On
10th October, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially
open the refurbished school hall of Han Chiang Primary School. Penang State
Executive Councillor YB Chong Eng, who was the main guest of honour, was
accompanied by the Board of Directors Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Tan Kok Ping, and
Board Chairman Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing to unveil a commemorative plaque
together with a tree planting ceremony that symbolizes continuous growth of
Han Chiang. It was an awesome evening on 12th
October. They were 6,000 Han Chiangites attended the Han Chiang Centennial Dinner,
including Han Chiang alumni who came from oversea to celebrate Han Chiang’s
centenary. The guest-of-honour at the centennial dinner was none other
than the Minister of Finance, Malaysia, the Honourable Mr Lim Guan Eng. On
15th October, the pupils of 5K conducted an online video
communication with the pupils of Nabeup Elementary School in Jeju Island,
South Korea under the leadership of their teachers. On
16th November, the 75th Han Chiang Graduation Ceremony
was successfully held with 162 graduates. On
21st November, the school UPSR candidates achieved an outstanding result
with 94.41% passing rate. On
18th December, 28 pupils participated in the 31st National
Chinese Dance Festival and the 20th National Chinese School
Inter-School Dance Observation Competition hosted by the Penang Dance
Association, and won the gold award for the dance "Look Who Is
Here". |
2020 |
On 29th
January, Han Chiang School celebrated the Chinese New Year on the fifth day.
The board of directors giving out red packets to teachers on the first
workday. The
PTA also distributed red packets to the pupils and tangerines to the teachers
and pupils too. It serves as motivation for the teachers and is believed to
bring good luck to both the pupils and the teachers. On 30th March,
the pandemic was severe. The government issued a Movement Control Order. Teachers
and pupils were unable to attend to the school. The school has established a
timetable for online classes to ensure that pupils are not suspended from gaining
knowledge. From 21st to 30th
May, Ms Lee Hong Choo, Headmistress of Han Chiang Primary School and 18
teachers led 100 Year 5 pupils to participate in the "Transnational
Online Teaching Exchange and Sharing Program". Mr Tang Yu Xin from
Taiwan not only conducted online learning and communication sessions with pupils,
but also shares 3 learning software: PAGAMO, CLASSTING and MYVIEWBOARD. Under
the guidance of Mr Tang, Han Chiang Primary School is fortunate to become the
first school in Malaysia to obtain free use of CLASSTING software for life. On 23rd June,
Mr. Lee Kok Siong, Chairman of PTA, sponsored 4 microphones and 4 video
cameras to the school to assist teachers to smoothen the transition to online
teaching. On 8th July, Datin Ang Bee Chin, Committee member of
PTA presented a fully automatic intelligent infrared temperature measuring
instrument to the school as to smoothen the process of measuring the body
temperature. On 15th July and
22nd July, pupils returned to school and resumed classes in
accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures for Resumption (SOP). The
attendance rate reached up to 98%. On 28th August,
Nurjessica Emelda from Year 5 took part in the 2020
National Day Online Poetry Recitation Competition which organized by Penang
Northeastern District Education Office and won a consolation prize. On 10th October,
Han Chiang Primary School held the 101st School Anniversary and
Children’s Day Celebration in a new normal way. All social strata had an
opportunity to enjoy the grand ceremony through the online blessing and
Facebook live broadcast. This live broadcast attracted 5,324 people to watch. On 23rd October,
Look Yan Xing from Year 5 won the Championship in the Penang Online Malay
Language Poetry Writing Competition. School closed starting on
9th November to the last day of the 2020 schooling semester in
tandem with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). Han Chiang Primary
School handled school affairs in accordance with the administrative management
prescribed by the Education Department. All pupils followed the online
learning schedule planned by the school. On 22nd and 23rd
December, Han Chiang Primary School held the 76th Graduation
Ceremony for 179 graduates in a new normal way subject to strict compliance
with health standard operating procedures set out by the relevant regulatory
authorities. |
2021 |
On 20th
January, the beginning of the new school year, the members of school voluntary
parental group took turns to the school every day to assist all pupils, teachers and staff members to go through 'gatekeeping
screening' before entering the school compound included; scanning body
temperature, using hand sanitizer and road safety control services to ensure that pupils learning in school safely. On 11th February,
Han Chiang Primary School worked together to record the 2021 Chinese New Year
movie "The Cow Turns the Universe: A Chinese New Year Without
Pandemic" in just one week, and it was broadcast on the PIBK SJKC Han
Chiang on New Year’s Eve. On 22nd February, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced school closures nationwide. As a
result, education has changed dramatically, with schools embracing the
home-based teaching and learning 2.0 (PdPR) to mitigate the transmission of
the virus. All students learn through online classes in accordance with the
instructions. On 28th February, Christopher Hong Yen Jzer and Ooi Jun Ming year 6 took part in the “Top
Studentv Season 2" organized by 8TV and MOE and achieved Championship. Year 1 and 2 pupils returned
to school and resumed classes on
1st March, while those in Year 3 to 6 backed on 8th March
in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures for Resumption
(SOP) On 9th March, Datin Ong Bee Chin, a committee member
of PTA, who was enthusiastic in school education contributed 10 smart tablets
to the school and 5 laptops to the teachers to help teachers and students
solve the problems along the process of home-based teaching and learning. On 10th April, Penang Chief
Minister Chow Kon Yeow was invited in the
foundation stone-laying ceremony of SJK (C) Han Chiang new building and
witnessing the contract award signing between the Han Chiang School Board
chairman Datuk Seri Ooi Soo Hing and the JVG Bina Sdn Bhd (the contractor)
director Henry Yeoh. On 20th April, the North- East District Health Office
sent a disinfection team to the Han Chiang Primary School to conduct a
comprehensive disinfection of every classroom and all corners. On 3rd May, the school was being instructed from the
Penang State Health Department to temporarily close. All pupils followed the
online learning schedule planned by the school. On 19th June, Lee Yu Yee from Year 5 won an Upper Primary
Excellent Award in the Chinese Culture Storytelling and Speech Contest for
Penang Chinese Primary Schools organized by the PCTH Culture and Education Sub-committee
which cooperate with Penang State Education Department. On 28th and 29th June, the school teachers emailed the
Pupils’ Assessment Report (PBD) of the first semester to parents to interpret
the progress of pupils in online learning. On 17th July, Wong Zi Shan from Year 6 won a Consolation Prize in the Penang Primary School Astronomy Quiz Competition organized by the Astronomical Society of Penang. On 20th August, Chong
Hao Jun, Chuan Wen Xuan and Adam Hizman from Year 5 won the third, fourth and
fifth placing in the Cycling Safety Quiz Competition which was organized by
Penang State Education Department. On 28th August, Keng
Jia Hui from Year 6 won the 1st runner up in the STEM Carnival:
Junior Maths Olympiad which was organized by the Penang State Education
Department. On 4th September, the
school was awarded The Highest Number of Participants in the STEM Carnival:
Science Online Quiz Competition which was organized by the Penang State
Education Department. Tee Yi Shan from Year 4 won the second prize in the
competition. On 13th and 14th September,
a total number of 134 pupils from Year 4 to Year 6 took part in the #Bolehcode
MICROBIT Competition which was organized by Arus Academy. The school was
awarded RM1000 for a wireless microphone and a set of studio lighting equipment
for the achievement of The Highest Number of Participants. 27 pupils managed to
enter into the finalists of the competition. On 20th September, Nur
Jessica Emelda binti Zambali Shah from Year 6 represented the state as the
finalist of the National Creative Dancing Competition and won third place. On 8th to 15th October,
female pupils from Year 4 to Year 6 took part actively in the National Agents
of TECH: Innovation Girls’ Icon Competition which was organized by Arus
Academy. The school was awarded RM300 for a mini studio set for the achievement
of The Highest Number of Participants. Khoo Ven Rui from Year 5 was nominated
for the top five primary school Agents of TECH. On 10th October, Han
Chiang Primary School held the 102nd School Anniversary and
Children’s Day Celebration in a new normal way. The school pupils shone
brightly in the virtual talent performances and the practice of flipped
classrooms during the online classes . All school teachers, pupils and the
public enjoyed the grand virtual ceremony through the live broadcast on
Facebook and Youtube Channel. On 15th October, Boey
Shee Shen from Year 6 took part in the MSSP Wushu Championship and won
gold medals in fencing and spear. On 12th November, the
school pupils took part in the TS25 Junior Emcee Virtual Competition. Lucas
Teng Ywen Joon from Year 6 won the first prize in the English Formal Official
Ceremony (Solo) category, Chiam Zi Yi and Wong Zi Shan won the third prize in
the Bahasa Malaysia Informal Official Ceremony (Paired) category. On 22nd November, the pupils returned to school and
resumed classes alternately in Group A and Group B in accordance with the
Standard Operating Procedures for Resumption (SOP). On 30th November, the school pupils took part in
the 2021 Overseas Chinese (Zhongshan) Essay Competition, Khoo Ven Rui from Year
5 won the 1st runner up, Auyong June from Year 4, Chong Yan Seen and Ng Win Xi from
Year 6 won the excellence award in the competition.
On 18th December, the school pupils took
part in the 2021 Overseas Chinese Teenagers Creative Writing Competition. 5
pupils won the first prize, 11 pupils won the 1st runner up and 32 pupils won Study Award
in the competition. |
